Do circles have sides?

A circle has ________ side(s).
A. no
B. two
C. three
D. one

This is a question that came out in the Hin Hua Primary school Year 2 English exam paper.

What do you think?

I think the answer should be 'A' and so does my mother who is an English language teacher teaching in that school.

But a Maths teacher say the answer should be 'D'. Her explanation is that a circle is made up of a single curve which is also considered as a 'side'.
So, hence the poll on the side bar, just below the chat box. Vote on it people :)

Actually, the answer is infinity if you are talking about polygon side, since circle is the limit of n side polygon when limit of n goes to infinity. To avoid confusion,we should refer to the definition of side. The answer will follow the definition.

I don't understand why English paper ask this kind of question anyway.
